The weather may be getting in the way of a longer ski season for your business, but your old rental equipment, or lack thereof, shouldn’t be. Are your ski bindings worse for wear? Are you somehow missing a ski pole, leaving a set mismatched? If an equipment change doesn’t seem too obvious, there are a few different factors to keep in mind when choosing whether to buy or update to your available collection. As the weather continues to turn toward spring, take the time now to survey your available ski equipment for the tail end of this season and into the start of 2018.

Competition
When is the last time you checked out the local ski competition in your neighborhood? If you’re thinking about buying some new equipment, see what other skiers are
using nearby, and what seems to be left in surplus in the rental rooms. You don’t have to exactly copy what others are doing, and you shouldn’t but staying in the know of what’s most popular will only fuel your personal knowledge and your buyer’s skiing experience.
Demographic
Think of the most common visitor to your ski lodge. Do you get a lot of families with young children or seasoned skiers? Choosing what new rental equipment to buy comes down to how well you understand your current market, and those in it. Be sure to focus on all visitor needs though, so no one gets left out in the cold!
Current Stock
If the same pair of ski boots or poles keep getting returned again and again halfway through the day, there is most likely an issue. When skiers visit your resort, the last thing they want to worry about is defective equipment, especially when they’re halfway up the chairlift. Survey your current stock for any visible issues with equipment and discard any that don’t seem up to par for the next season. Be sure to buy a wide range of sizes and types for different skiers who will visit!
Most ski equipment is rented to comfort and warmth. Be sure to keep your skier's hands warm on the slopes with FireFingers heated ski grips.
